Spotlight: Eric Hernandez – Bruno Mars

By now you’ve surely heard of neo-soul/pop sensation Bruno Mars. The singer/songwriter’s debut album “Doo-Wops & Hooligans” has been certified Platinum in the US, UK and around the globe. Bruno has also gained incredible recognition as a songwriter and performer around the globe. The Grammy Award-winning artist has penned mega hits for a growing list of artists including Cee-Lo Green (“F*** You”), Ke$ha, Adam Levine, Travie McCoy, Flo-Rida and more.

Drummer Eric Hernandez mans the throne for this talented group of musicians. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Hawaii, Eric now lives in Los Angeles with his wife Cindia and toddling son Liam. Eric has been a Woodshed client for several years, and has used our drum head artwork on several tour legs around the globe and TV performances such as American Idol, the Grammy awards, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Today Show to name a few.

One of the tightest pop bands on tour, their energetic live shows always excite the crowd. The nine-piece band, complete with a horn section, gives nod to 1960s-1970s artists like Sam & Dave, Otis Redding and James Brown. Bruno, a drummer himself, has even known to surprise the crowd with a drum solo on occasion. The band recently finished a sold-out headlining US tour with Janelle Monae (Mikey Phillips on drums), and are performing sold-out shows throughout the UK, Europe, and Asia.
